Recommendations - help?!

Hey everyone

So, I asked one of my english teacher's to write me a rec. She was more than willing (yay!). She told me to come by her class to pick it up yesterday. I came by and she had the recs written and sealed in envelopes. However, she also had a copy of the letter she gave to me to keep. Most of the schools I am applying to ask if i waive the right to see my recs. Can I still check yes for this even though she voluntarily showed mine to me?

Yes. I'm sure your teacher just wanted you to have a copy to read and to keep as a record.

If she voluntarily gave you copy without your request that she do so, you are still fine in saying you waive your right to see recs because you have not done anything inconsistent with that waiver.
