<p>In a guidebook I saw that uchi's "very important factors" were transcripts, recs, and essays, then the "important factors" were test scores, ec's, etc. Are recs more important here than at other schools? I noticed they ask for both math/science and history/english recs which is good, but it seems to good to be true that they weigh recs higher than scores</p>
<p>There's no precise formula, but Chicago's adcom tries to get a composite picture of the whole applicant as a person and so letters can often put flesh and blood on what otherwise might be cold lists of grades, tests, curricula, ec's etc.</p>
