recommendations? too late?

Do the recommendations have to be received by the college on or before January 4th, or can they be sent off later (if you submit your application before the 4th)?

postmarked on January 4th should work fine

they can be turned in after 4th, even postmarked after 4th, but send em in asap

I know for Yale that once they have your application status ( two weeks after you submit) and if your missing a LOR, you can still submit it because LORs are out of your hand and not your fault but the recommenders for not submitting on time or something may have happended.

indian, how do you know that? Are you sure?

@bassdude its true recs can always be late, because its not the student’s fault so the student shouldn’t be penalized. After you check your admission status and if columbia hasn’t received your teacher recs then they still get a chance to turn them in, even its 2 weeks after the deadline.

Hope this is true.

One of my teachers is sick so he can’t do it until later…

i called and asked :)
