I know that ND requires one teacher and counselor rec but i have seen that a couple of people have said that they had there principal or an alum write a rec too. I was thinking of having my boss from my summer internship write one but i don't want to over do it and annoy the adcom especially since it is not what they asked for. I think that my counselor wrote a fairly decent letter, especially since i gave it to her early, and i think that my teacher rec was also good too (although i didn't read either).
What do you guys think about submitting additional recs? Thanks.

The ND admissions department makes it very clear that they would prefer not having to read extra recommendations. It's up to you if you chose to send one, but they may not even read it. Just make sure that whoever you ask for the initial recommendation knows you well and can write you a good one.

ok thanks. thats what i was planning to do.

I sent an extra one in from the Archbishop of Denver and I regret doing so. ND, in my opinion, is one of those schools that wants you to do what they ask you to do. If they say two recs, that is what they want (othewise some will send 20). I would just stick to what is required, but that is me.

they wont read extra recomendations

hahaha i remember when i visited they talked about sum1 who sent i think.....100s of recs...........needless to say they didnt get in...but they claim it was for a different reason

yea the guy talked about that person at my info session as well

hmmm....i bet that person was used this forum....im gonna check it out

Do exactly what the appliction calls for....needlessly trying to pad your application with a recomendation you think will impress the school will not have a positive impact. The content is what's important, not who you know.

Plus if you submit extra letters of recomendation, the admissions committee is just going to wonder if you can't follow simple instructions...
