Hey cc,

Next year I will be applying to selective schools and have questions about teacher recs. Are you required to submit 2 teacher recs? Like can I get a letter of recommendation from my AP Chem teacher and science research mentor instead of submitting 2 teacher recs and an outside of school rec? There may be a simole answer to this but I have no idea how this works and want to prepare now.

It depends on the schools. You will have to look at the admission requirements for each individual college

Yeah, I have a question similar to this. I’m planning on asking two of my teachers for recs this summer (I know them really well, have been to their house, speak with them all the time, and did well in their classes). But I might also have recommendations from a couple of professors. Would I just submit those along with my other rec’s? I don’t want to annoy the admissions counselor. I know that for most places you can submit an additional rec alongside your two teacher recs.

Each school is different about how many recs they accept so check each one.
