recommendations...?

I know McGill doesn't take essays, extra-currics, or recommendations into account but is there any way I could send them one of my teacher's recommendations by mail?

Last year there was a "Scholar's Dinner" at my school for students with a high GPA and only 40 students out of our whole 180 students in our grade received special "Book Awards." This is when a teacher that is very familiar with a university selects a student he or she thinks will make a good match. My French teacher gave me the McGill Award. Is there any way I could include this in my application?

Thanks!

From McGill's website (<a href="http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/undergrad2007-08/usa/%5B/url%5D">http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/undergrad2007-08/usa/</a>)</p>

"McGill University does not require letters of recommendation. In most cases, admission decisions are made on the basis of the transcripts. However, should a school counsellor or principal wish to furnish important additional insight on a particular applicant, this must be submitted in a sealed envelope, signed across the flap by the author."

The financial aid application, which is for need-based as well as merit-based awards, requires a recommendation, to discuss leadership of the student. They also consider extracurricular activities and want an essay -- so once you apply for aid, there is a more American-University-like set of application requirements.
