<p>The admissions office wants recommendations from teachers that know you well. If the teacher knows you well then ask them. Otherwise evaluate teachers you have had for your junior or senior year courses and ask one of them instead.</p>
<p>Many of the students at my daughters school asked their sophomore English teacher for a recommendation. She was an excellent writer and had a close relationship with many of her students in their junior and senior years.</p>
<p>Whatever you do make certain the teacher knows you well, is a good writer and will write positively about you.</p>
