Recommendations?

I asked two of my teachers for letters of recommendations for two summer programs about a month ago. But I just realized that there is a third summer program I am interested in.

Would it be rude to ask my teachers if they could print additional copies? But then the question is, do teachers save recommendations in the first place?

Alternatively, I could cancel one of my two applications and use the extra pair of recommendations for this third program. But that relies on the fact that the teacher didn't mention the name of the intended program/institution.

Advice?

It wouldn't be rude at all. Hopefully, this third summer program deadline is not next week. If the teacher's saved these documents I don't think it shouldn't be a problem.

However when requesting recommendation, I think two to three weeks request in advance is reasonable.

Just be honest with the teachers and let them know that you've found another program that you're interested in and wondered if they could write you another recommendation. Good luck!
