Hi, I am just wondering..I am a non traditional student and I need to ask some professors/advisors for a recommendation. I know that now most are submitted through the amcas website, but one of my schools I actually will have to mail it to them separately...
when do most people ask, and if I ask soon- is it ok for them to mail the recommendation to the school this early who won't accept it through amcas website?

Thanks for all the help.

Typically students request recommendations from instructors that they have gotten to know, are comfortable around, are “cool” with, etc., whom double as a very educated teacher (for more validity). If you don’t have any professor with whom you connect with, it may be difficult, but if you do have one and he is the one you are looking to sign you a recommendation then any time is fine to ask - it should not be uncomfortable to ask as you are indeed well-acquainted with him.
