Hey everybody!

So, I have a problem regarding recommendations. So I asked my math teacher to write me a recommendation. I got a B plus which was my lowest grade all year, meaning that his class was my worst. However, he really likes me and picked me to be in a state competition. He retired this yr but has been teaching 35 years and has been department head for a while. Oh, and i am not majoring in science...

The other options are my AP stats teacher who really likes me, considers me a hardworker, but thinks i am an overachiever. i got an A in the class though.

The other option is my english teacher who thinks im smart, dedicated, a good writer, but thinks i have social problems that i am not sociable and that people do not like me.

I really appreciate any insight you guys might have. So, thanks! Good luck to all!

imo you should pick your math and ap stat teacher. even though u are not majoring in science, these two teachers know you well and i think they will write you a good rec. Despite not achieving a good grade in your math class, your math teacher likes you as a person and will be able to give colleges a personal reflection of you. The recc from ur stat teacher will give colleges a perspective on ur academic achievements – “hardworker”

even though your english teacher thinks you are smart, a lot of people are smart so that alone will not constitute a good rec

Go with the math teacher. If he likes you and is a seasoned and veteran teacher, I think he can write you a terrific recommendation.
How does the fact that you’re not majoring in science conflict with asking your math teacher?

oh sorry, i meant math or science. thanks for your input!

bumppppp

Wow a teacher that thinks you are an overachiever, and one who thinks you have social problems? What kinda school do you go to haha
Teachers are supposd to keep those things to themselves

Agree, I think you should go with your math and stats teacher. If your english teacher really does think you have social problems, DON’T ask her b/c it would hurt, if not destroy, your chances if she even hinted at the fact that you are not sociable.
