So I'm in a bit of a jiffy. I'm not sure if I will be taking AP Bio next year and the thing is that without this class I'm not sure who would write me a recommendation. My Bio teacher went to UPenn and I'm thinking about applying to that school. So my question is are recommendations important and does the fact that the teacher went to that school help?

Yes.

Maybe, if the teacher specifically talks about how you are such a good fit for the school, but most of the times, no.
