My school has their own recommendation form that we give to our teachers, who then write us recommendations on school letterhead.

If we have those, do we have to have them fill out Common App recommendations, too? Or will the colleges just accept the letters they wrote? I can send them myself, I have copies of them, or I can have Guidance do it. I just would feel better if I sent them, because I know that it would get done... (heard too many horror stories about swamped guidance counselors...)

You lose credibility if you send them, because they can be tampered with. Get your guidance department to send everything to make sure colleges won’t view it in a different light. Most undergraduate admissions pages have account creation links that let you know when specific pieces of forms have been received (SAT scores, transcripts, Common App, recommendations, payment, etc.)

I have some questions. How many recommendation letter should I submit? ( maximum??)
Should I let every teachers/employers send directly to the admission office of give all the letters to me and let me send? I am an international student and in my country not many people/teachers know English so what should I do?

I have a question about recommendations. I want to submit my whole application online, because that way I can ensure that everything gets sent and looked at. How exactly do recommendations on the Common App work? Are the teachers I have chosen emailed the form to fill out? Because it says to give the document with the recommendation form on it to them…but I don’t know how that can translate into an online application…

Well I’m no teacher, but they’re emailed a link to click on, where they can upload their letter of recommendation, and perhaps select a field in which the general recommendation is given: “Highly recommended for this, blah blah blah.”
