Recommended AP Classes?

I'm a sophomore right now and I'm taking AP Biology and AP World History.

Our guidance counselors are forcing us to hand in our requested schedules for next year. I am eligible to take AP Chemistry and AP Calc BC (Taking Pre-Calc this year) next year, but I'm planning on taking AP Environmental Science and AP Statistics instead (Along with AP US and AP Lit).

So if I was applying for a top school (My goal is Stanford), would they penalize me for trying to take easier courses to boost my GPA? I'm definitely taking AP Calc BC senior year along with AP Psych, AP Lit 2, and AP Gov. But should I take AP Chemistry along with it too, so colleges don't think I'm being manipulative or something? :P

Thanks in advance.

I really don’t think they’ll care. As long as you’re doing well in AP/college level classes, you’re good.

Thanks! I’m probably going to take AP Chem senior year anyways. But I still want input from other members on whether or not colleges care about you leaving off difficult AP courses for senior year when grades aren’t as important.

I took AP Chem last year (Junior year) and I’m really glad I did. It’s one of the harder AP classes, at least at my school, but of course it depends on your school/teacher. All I can suggest is make sure you take classes you enjoy. Colleges love a rigorous course load, just make sure you can handle it.
