Hello -

My daughter will be making a weekend visit to Williams this fall, and we need to set up transportation to and from the Albany Airport. Has anyone found a limo or shuttle company that they particularly like? Thanks.

Cal, I believe it's fairly common just to catch a regular taxi from Albany airport to Williamstown. If you do prefer to arrange in advance I'd suggest Norm's Limo, 800-486-4946 or 413-663-8300/6284. One way is about $75. After four years we should own stock in this operation!

Good luck to your daughter and let us know what she thinks about Williams.

momrath - Thanks very much! I think my preference for this visit is to set it up ahead, so I'll call Norm's. But it's good to remember that a taxi can be used as a back-up plan.

Getting to Williams on a weekend from the Albany airport shouldn't be a problem. Getting from Williamstown to Albany on a Sunday without reservations could get tricky. I'd make a reservation for the trip back (and call that weekend to confirm it), just to be sure someone will be there in time.

Does anyone have any more current recommendations for limo/taxi to and from the Albany airport to campus, or are the above recommendations still good? My son is attending Previews on his own, and I'm trying to make some plans.

Yes, I know the college is offering a free shuttle to and from the airport, but the times are not very convenient and will result in his having to spend an extra 2+ hours in the airport on both ends. I think it'd be worth while to add an extra four hours of time to his campus visit, if we can figure out how to do it.

Nceph, the college website lists several limo/taxi services from Albany. There's also a link for "college drivers" who will pick up at Albany - I remember a couple of my friends used to do this to pick up extra cash.

Thanks. I saw that but didn't know how current the information was and was looking for recent experience. (A while back I called a hotel that was listed and it was apparently out of business.) Perhaps I'll check out the "college drivers."
