Hello all, I just got my SAT II Math II score and I am dismayed. Last year (June 2014) I also took chem and I got a 770. I got a 770 on math this time around too. I’m really disappointed that I would stoop this low, so I decided to retake in October (I’m a rising senior). I currently have Dr. Chung’s prep book for math, but I need a new one for Chem. I took a bunch of practice tests online and I got basically 790s on them because I finished in 30 minutes and didn’t bother checking my answers. What’s the best prep book to use for the SAT II Chem? And also, should I buy another prep book for math, if so, which one? Thanks in advance!
Why would you need a new prep book if you could get a 790 in 30 minutes without checking your answers?
@CHD2013 that’s only for chem. Math is usually around 770-800 in around 50 minutes of test time. I need a new prep book to patch and touch up my skills and provide more practice tests. I plan to get 800s on both.
Got it. I’ve posted this on another thread, but its relevant so . . .
For math, I recommend Dr. Steve Warner’s 320 SAT Math Subject Test Problems Level 2. Dr. Steve is a regular contribute to the SAT Prep forum. His materials in general are very good and this book specifically is a great aid for the subject test. Dr. Chung’s book has some useful info too but the problems are unnecessarily hard.
If you’re a good math student and good test taker, an 800 in math is achievable with enough work and the right materials.
