recommended vocal jazz schools?

<p>My daughter graduates this year and is going to take a gap year...so we have time to look for schools. She'd like to study vocal jazz--in the midwest or east coast, midsize to smaller school. Her short list includes these schools: </p>

<p>Chicago College of Performing Arts (Roosevelt University)
Butler University
New England Conservatory of Music
Peabody Conservatory of Music
Michigan State University (we know it's not small--made her put it on the list)
New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music
McGill University - Schulich School of Music
Bennington</p>

<p>Any feedback would be appreciated.</p>

<p>CC has a music forum. Posters there can offer you advice. Music training is quite specialized and you will receive more help if you post your question on that forum.</p>

<p>My son is a freshman at University of Miami and he has mentioned how many talented Frost school of Music Students he has met. He is thrilled with UM. Worth a look.</p>
