Recommenders after the Common App is submitted

are recommenders allowed to send in recommendations after the student has already sent in the common app? I’m waiting for peer recommendations for Cornell and Dartmouth (they’re highly recommended at both schools) and I’d like to submit my applications without adding any additional pressure to my friend who is in the middle of his own college process/nightmare.

Correct. The schools continue to download the recommendations even after they download the application. My D had a recommendation submitted 2 months after her app, and the school downloaded the very next day without any action needed on our part.
