<p>This is bizarre. In the online app it is not obvious that you need to click Recommendations, since many people just give their teachers an addressed envelope with the rec form downloaded from the site. So, the online app says 1) Teachers MAY send in forms electronically 2) If teachers are using paper forms, download and follow instructions for sending 3) You MUST(emphasis is mine) input the names and contact info - online - for any recommenders whether recs go in electronically or on paper.</p>

My sense is that it's NOT necessary for a paper app, but it IS for people applying online, but with mailed(or online) teacher recs. Even on the online form, it is not obvious, because there are other places to download teacher rec forms, and the forms as well as the main part of the application say nothing about this - unless you are prompted when you submit?? This is easily overlooked.

<p>I called the Admissions Office re: this today because S completed app on line but not Recommenders List. I was told this info on line is useful in case a teacher rec is missing (they will know which teacher failed to send in form) but not to worry if it wasn't provided. Admissions Office will notify applicant if any forms/info missing.</p>
<p>3boysnjmom, when do they notify you of any missing material? Is this before or after the deadline? What if you're missing a piece and the deadline already passed? Are you allowed to still send stuff in?</p>
