Ive been accepted to all the schools ive applied to as an anthro major. Ok, so i got in, but anthro is not my passion. It was an easy major to get a high gpa and transfer quickly but do i really want to pursue something that will not give me the most opportunity post undergrad? especially when i have no particular passion as of yet. The parents really want me to go to law school and join the family practice and i figured id take the easy road, get into UCLA, make them proud and just go with it.

so, ive reconsidered a plan of action.

Deny all these schools; Finish the business pre reqs and apply next fall, agian. I would lose a year but have so many more options when i graduate. Ive taken the econ courses and recieved As so i would just need to draw out a new game plan for the desired schools.

Thing is,

The parentals are proud and its even united the lost relationship between my divorced parents.

Any similiar situations or thoughts on this?

take the easy route with philosophy then go to law, making a ton of money isn't what it's all cracked out to be, like you said find something you have passion for, business may lead you down the same road your on now. Look at things in your life now, what are you good at? what has always interest you? personally I would become a professional hit man, the perks are outrageous, but the anti-social life style and plant as your best friend doesn't really suit me.

That's why I'm doing Business Economics/Economics right now and something that I personally like seems dry at times, you got to figure 40% of your day will consist of this particular career, so decide what you would like to do or be at for 8+ hours a day. Being a Pornstar wouldn't be bad either, I got the Equipment & the stamina but no agencies to talk to^^ I've been up all night looking at east coast schools so I
m kind of rambling woo hoo!!

and not to forget that tons of people who major in something as an undergrad don't exactly follow that career path. it's entirely up to you though; you need to think about what you want to do the rest of your life and if your current studies really interest you.

ahaha very entertaining post. I just figure that with a Buisness degree Ill have more options other then law school and getting a masters. I love to play ball on sundays and go to an ocassional laker game but thats all I can get from that.

Plus; I want to get paid. Money can buy happiness. and laker tickets.

there you go, found a job for you, become a ref, a coach, a advertise sector for the laker's, sports announcer, sports analyst, sports writer, Sports law, Sports Agent,, do sports medicine, or be one a players physical trainer, be a professional gambler and bet on sports games/fights. the possibilities are endless, journalism, English, law, marketing/advertising medicine. its what you like so go for it. being less rich but enjoying your passion helps you look forward to the next day, instead of the 9-5 grind of non-excitement.

glad you realized that anthro is a POS major, in my humble opinion.

check out ave salaries for lawyers- it'll be far less than you expected. the only way to get hired by a large firm is if you went to a top 15 school.

Email me, I still want that cologne! HAHA. But yeah, thanks for never telling me about this site otherwise I would've been on here 24/7 during the application days.
