Record ALL Hours?

So, I'm a bit confused about recording hours for school. As a general public school, we have the requirement to graduate, so no big deal and I finished the requirement to graduate. I have volunteered to close to 1000 hours before applying to college, but should I still record it through the school anyways? Does that actually affect me in the admissions process because they record how many hours I do on the sheet, or does just the mentioning of the activity and how many hours per week per year I do the activity for just do it? I'm just a bit worried about it because I do a lot, but I just never get it recorded.

Any suggestions would help!

Hours are a lot less important than how you help others and how you grow from the experience. The only colleges that place a great emphasis on community service are those which have the luxury of choosing among a great number of highly qualified applicants. Schools like that will be much less impressed by hours than accomplishments.
