Record increase in applications.

Kenyon has received over 6500 applications this year. Isn't that just amazing?! Here's the official tweet:

Darryl Uy @DarrylUy
@kenyoncollege received record-breaking # of apps, over 6500, nearly a 63% increase vs last yr! Now we just need to read them! #Kenyon2018

I don't know how to give a link for that, but check it out. Seems like removing the supplement, in conjunction with the new website and the John Green madness, has really helped Kenyon get apps. Do you guys think there are other reasons for Kenyon's success?

As an applicant, this news unsettles me, to be honest. I wonder what % of those apps are international. lol Also, I am curious about other schools' admission numbers, especially those of Grinnell, which too removed its supplement this year.

WOW!!! That is insane… Glad my S got in ED:)

Kenyon is my first choice and I applied ED2. Do you think this will negatively impact my chances in a major way?

WOW! What an increase.

Kenyon typically has not had that many international students.

For what it is worth, recently applications to the best colleges have increased while mediocre colleges have seen a drop. Fewer students are going to college, but apparently they are getting more ambitious.
