Fellow parents of students who just committed to Scripps, our daughters have joined the largest class in the college’s history. Yield went up 7 points this year. I actually think this is mostly good news, but it does pose challenges to prepare for 40% more students than they expected.
Oh wow! The acceptance numbers showed that they admitted more students (and a higher percentage) this year, which appeared to be in anticipation of a drop in yield because of the issues on campus this past semester. Apparently yield went up instead of down!
So, 949 students were accepted. At a 37% yield, we’re looking at a class of 350.
As you say, this will definitely pose some challenges… hopefully they have enough lead-time to figure out how they’re going to make it work!
