Recording Opportunities?

Are there any recording studios within Cornell that students are allowed to utilize without being specifically in the music department?

let's say I teamed up with someone in the recording department.. anyone know if I'd be able to record some tunes?

What type of music do you play?

if you take a music class, you can sign up for the studios.

risley also has a recording studio - you can be an out-of-house member (pay $90 for the year to use all of its facilities)

pop punk, but it’d really be recording vocals for my studio band back home and some acoustic songs too.

but thanks for the info! do you know if risley’s studio is nice at all? would it be more beneficial for me to just take a music class and have my pick of studio or just pay the 90 and use risley… hah

risley’s studio is pretty good - the equipment is not as elaborate as those located in lincoln hall - but if you’re mainly doing pop punk, it is definitely more than enough.

if you’re interested in electronica/digital music on the other hand… you might want to look into taking the digital music classes and get the opportunity to sign up for those studios - you’ll learn a lot since the professor’s really good and you’ll get the benefits without paying that $90.

ummmmm hah okay thanks…

the JAM (just about music) house might have something
