is this possible? i have so many great songs from limewire that i would love to have as my ringtone for my cell phone

Myphonefiles.com

It's super cheap (about $4 for a month of unlimited uploads to the site or $20 for a year unlimited) and after the initial fee for the software you just pay for whatever data charges you have on your phone for downloading. Definitely cheaper than the $2-$4 the phone companies charge PER SONG.

The software lets you use any mp3 or wav file on your computer and allows you to cut any part of the song you want for the ringtone.

It's amazing.

could i record it on my phone from say limewire, and then somehow get this to be my ringtone?

Don't know (I suspect not?), but I dont really think it'd be worth the hassle.

Really though.. $4....unlimited. and EASY.

Go download BitPim, it is a program that allows you to turn full songs into uploadable clips suitable for cell phones. (you can even put whatever part of the song you want, and make it as loud as you want)

Go to funformobile.com and upload the clip you just made (or any sound file) and send it via message form to your cell. And viola, you have a self made ringtone, for free (saving $4 a month)

or do it the ghetto way...

hold phone speaker to computer speaker. press record.

how do you record and then set it to be your ringtone

well it depends on your phone really. on mine, anything i record gets put in a folder titled "recordings" and then i can press options, and set a particular recording as my ringtone.

For anything cell phone related - http://howardforums.com/

get a phone that can play mp3 ringers like motorola v330 or razr, cut out parts of songs you want as you ringtones and bluetooth transfer them onto the phone.

I second what joev said. Funformobile.com is amazing, since you get to upload practically any sound file from song clips to voice recordings.

how come when i download from funformobile.com a song , it wont play on my cell phone - ill get the text message but it wont play

i also dont really understand how to use the BitPim program... it says u need a wire to connect ur phone to the compter

btw i have a verizaon a670 phone

i convert my mp3's to wav, edit the section i want in windows sound recorder, then send to phone via bluetooth.

You can buy a datacable from E-Bay to use with BitPim to upload more songs to your phone, either way (funformobile or a datacable) BitPim is great for chopping up the part of the song you want.
