Do you have time for it? Do you consider it a waste of time?
Unfortunately, I've gotten heavily into reading in the years of my life where I doing things to prepare for college.
Hours a day when I could be underwater basket weaving in Antarctica. Psh.

Reading is NEVER a waste of time. :D
It's what distinguishes just plain overachievers from people who actually love learning. As I have to point out to my friends almost daily.

it isn't a waste of time, because reading many books, is the best way to prepare of the SAT verbal section.

that being said, i have NO time of it during the school year.

I read stuff online. Like NetHack spoilers. I guess they count. :D
At least I've read enough to get an 800 on verbal and writing.

I read a LOT during school-sometimes during class, if the teacher is explaining adding (it has happened...in sophomore year!!!)...haven't read that much this summer (like 10 books in a month, which is low for me...last year I read 42 books in 5 weeks!)

42 books in 5 weeks!

Remarkable, that's more than a book a day.

yeah, I was pretty crazy...they weren't all COMPLETELY literary like they are now...but yeah. my librarian loves me, and gave me a $50 gift certificate to border's...cha ching...but i love reading. you couldn't force me to stop.

Mm. I do feel it's bit of a struggle doing the school year, especially in cases when the book you are reading is much more interesting than Campbell's Biology....=p

But I still manage to find time to finish a book in a week or so during the school year. I like to read when I'm waiting for stuff or in those odd moments in between activities - on the bus, right after showering, before going to sleep...etc.

During the summer I manage around a book a week. I like hard sci-fi and stuff like that. I'm re-reading the Harry Potter series since I finished #7.
