How big is smoking grass on your campus?? Will people look at you differently if they knew you were a recreational smoker?

common, and no

I think it is common here. I don’t know. Just a guess. I mean, I haven’t tried it. I don’t go out often to come across it, but I’m sure a lot of people here do it or have tried it at least once. Sometimes I feel like I’m missing out since it is “acceptable”, hahaha.

I don’t think people would look at you different, unless someone is uber conservative and against drugs or any other substances.

Agreed. Pot is common currency among many social groups here. I blaze a couple times a week.

I have gotten parking tickets more severe than the penalty here for possession of pot, and as I understand it is fairly common here but I have only personally encountered it twice. My guess is that it is much like the rest of the partying scene here, where you can really be enveloped in it if you want to be, or you can almost never see it, depending on what you want. I generally avoid those kinds of things. Just not interested.

A lot of my friends smoke, and we like each other just fine. The exception is when they’re high as a kite. Then, I’m out of the loop.

I smoke a lot more here at college than I ever did at home. Most people are cool with it, and within the people I seem to keep meeting, it’s stranger to find someone who doesn’t smoke.

(1) It’s fairly common in some circles.

(2) Most rational people won’t judge you for it, but if you really care what other people think of you, I hope you don’t start smoking weed or doing other drugs until you get those issues sorted out.

Fairly common in certain circles, and yes.

haha…

People who smoke recreationally are certainly to be looked down upon. Smoking professionally is where it’s at.

It’s pretty common, I think. Pot is at at least half of the parties I go to… and no one really looks down on me for smoking.

im not sure how prevalent it is throughout the campus, since im a freshmen. within freshmen guys though, i havent met many guys that smoke. ive only met a couple girls that have smoked here, and they said only a couple times. on my floor almost every guy i hang out with does smoke or has smoked, but i dont know about any of international students. half the guys smoke almost every day. i know theres a fraternities on campus thats known for smoking a lot of weed

Hookah hookah hookah hookah hookah!!! :D

no to marijuana.

pot is everywhere. and I don’t look at people differently for it, and I don’t think anyone should judge people based on it.

Second hand smoking is more dangerous than first hand. I hate it when others smoke in public (I literally have to hold my breath as I walk past them). I have nothing against those who smoke because they can be awesome people. Just my uncle smokes all the time and so I feel really bad for my younger cousin. Even when he steps out to smoke, his breath smells like it… :x

everybody who is at peace with the world is at peace with marijuana.

It’s common. No, you’re not looked down upon unless it becomes the focal point of your life or you start skipping classes and assignments just to blaze… then people look down on you- because you can’t control yourself.

A lot of people smoke at my school, which surprised me. My friends don’t look down on it, but there are people who look down on it. That’s the way it is. Some people aren’t down with drugs, and consider weed a drug. The biggest reason people who smoke may be looked down by others is because everybody that I know that smokes also does other drugs. It’s not so much the weed, but the other things- shrooms, acid, molly, coke, adderall/ritalin etc; that smokers use.

The fact is if you smoke, there are going to people who look down on you for it, even though they drink. People give you nasty looks if you smoke a cigarette for christ sake. Weed is widely accepted here, and most people are cool with it, but there are people that have a thing against it.

There are a healthy number of people that smoke daily, and even though they have solid GPAs, some people look at them as potheads. But they would look down on them even if they only smoked occasionally. The groups seperate themselves early on anyways, so if people look down on you it doesn’t really matter because they aren’t your friends.
