hey guys! I am just wondering if as a student at CAS if there is any oppertunities to take part in recreational (novice) theatre - really do CAS students get the opportunity to audition for small scale play’s or drama clubs that are NYU affiliated. I know Steinhardt and Tisch have clubs and recreational kinda theatre opportunities but I didn’t know if they would be open for the CAS students to audition? And also being a semi-untalented CAS student I didn’t know if you’d have any hope for things that Steinhardt and Tisch students were auditioning for? But theatre is something i really want to give a go in college so it would be awesome if NYU had such opportunities for all students! Thanks guys!!
@aussiedreamer - yes, there are definitely theatre productions open to all for auditions. The largest shows at NYU are open casting and the producers / directors make a point of stating that they want a diverse cast representing the whole of the Uni and not just Tisch / Steinhardt. However… How semi-untalented are you? 
It’s a big school and theatre is a common and widely-loved high school EC so you’ll have competition from fellow students, regardless of which college they attend.

hehe and I am not great, but I suppose I can always take a some acting lessons over summer and during freshman year, so hopefully I will be able to get in eventually, and if not it is just really exciting to have a chance to try!
