recruit

there is a kid in my high school recruited by Penn... (hurrah~)
I am very happy for her but at the same time very jealous!

(Well, Penn likes rowers from my high school. In fact, last year Penn accepted three kids from my school, among two of whom were twin atheltes. Another one accepted did not choose to go to Penn.)

My friends keep telling me that it is a good sign for me because if Penn wants to maintain its reputation at my school, it has to accept some kids other than recruits. However, at the same time, I am not so sure that Penn will accept more than one kid from my school as part of ED.

I hope and she and I were from the different pools and her recruit does not affect my decision much...

Is anyone familiar with Penn's admission system/process?
I heard that though people are saying that there is no school/regional quota, I bet there is...

Well, 12 more days!
Good luck, everyone :)

i'm in kinda the same situation as you...There are four kids applying to Wharton ED from my school, me and one of my good friends are the two most qualified applicants, but the third kid's dad is the chief financer and judge of the wharton business plan competition....so he's in :/ i was wondering if penn woudl consider taking more then one to Wharton ED but i really doubt it :(

Penn admissions does use school quotas to some extent. Not that they're very specific, but they do have general ideas about how many student they want from each school. If you don't go to a prep school or a public school in a big feeder area, then the recruit could actually affect your chances.
