Recruited athlete as a transfer

I wanted to know how the process works of becoming, or attempting to become, a recruited athlete at an institution you plan on transferring too. I personally do not play any varsity athletics at my current school for personal reasons, but am considering to if I transfer.

I would love to know how this works. Thanks

As a current d3 baseball player, i began the process of contacting the baseball coaches at Georgetown and GWU with an email containing some of my statistics/awards and the phone number of my college coach for a recommendation. Not expecting much from the coaches at either school other than possibility giving me an advantage in admissions and the opportunity to tryout next fall as a ‘walk-on’

you need to email or call coaches at each school. have a resume or list of stats/awards/times ready and they will let you know if there is room on the team and if they are interested. if you are not currently a college athlete they have no restrictions in communicating with you so you’ll want to make that clear the first time you talk to them. i’ve done these whole process so you you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
