OK I just talked to the softball coach this week and he said that on July 1st all of the varsity athletic programs have a picnic for their new players. Has anyone else heard anything about this? If so whos going? I think I will be going by myself and would like to fly in on June 30th and stay at the West Point motel the next couple nights. I was wondering if there were any females who may be intrested in spliting a room the night before.

Typically the varsity teams hold their own picnic the day before R-Day. You should make every effort to arrive at West Point for your team's picnic. You will have an opportunity to meet with your team's coaches and upper classmen in a relaxed atmosphere. The upper classmen in attendance will spend alot of time answering your questions and giving you support. You will also meet the other New Cadets on your team. All of these introductions will give you a sense of the camraderie that will develop more deeply over your tenure at the Academy. Good luck and best wishes!

Are there any other recruited athletes that are going to West Point?

xc/track for me

Keep in mind that it won't only be "recruited" athletes that will be invited to or attending the varsity picnics. Any entering new cadet who expresses interest in trying out for a varsity team will be invited. Its a great chance to meet your potential new teammates. Good Luck!

Gee, wish the cheerleading team had that...ha...

Oreillyfactor- So are you going up a day early to attend the picnic?
