I will be majoring in Computer Engineering and Economics at UC Davis. What is the recruiting like there? Since it’s pretty far from Silicon Valley, does that mean that big companies like Google and Apple won’t come to recruit at San Diego? Also, do banks from San Francisco and LA recruit at San Diego as well?
Big tech companies come to ucsd, it’s one of the main schools that feeds into google and the CS alumni network is robust. It’s a little different for Econ, only a few of the big companies (Visa, Deloitte, Booz Allen) tend to actively recruit
CS recruiting is really good, probably only behind CAL in the UC System. Tons of people here get internships at the big 4, unicorns etc. Not too sure about econ, although I don’t think its as good.
