What exactly does a recruitment form do. For example, if I fill a recruitment form out for horseback riding, does that mean i'm going to ride when i go visit the college, or does that mean i get to visit the riding facilities when i visit a college. does a recruitment form help me get into college at all?

I went through this recently so I can help you out. :)

A recruitment form is just a way of letting the coach know that you exist and that you are interested. If the coach is really interested in you, he will email you back. Sometimes a coach will be so interested that he will actually "recruit" you, meaning he will ask you to come on an official visit (when you stay overnight with an athlete from your sport) and tell you to send him your transcript. In that case, he will also contact the admissions office and tell them he wants you in that college. Now, the admissions office has the final say, but depending on how influential the sport or coach is, it can really help you get in. Some coaches, however, just aren't considered important enough to have any pull in the admissions office no matter how badly they want you.

thanks! :-D

should i only fill these out for colleges im REALLY (really, really, really) interested in?

I would fill them out for any college you plan to apply to that has an equestrian team.

cool. thanks :)
