How many of this type of letter inviting HS juniors to visit does Princeton send out? I think they got contact info, scores etc. from college board. The letter arrived in April, followed by a viewbook. This is an unhooked kid and not an athlete.

Older child got similar from HPY several years ago, but we read on CC that H had sent out 70K or so such letters that year.

Wondering just how special this is (or not)...

What do you mean by “recruitment letter”? If it’s the standard advertising material (which I assume it is), it doesn’t really mean anything and is certainly not very special.

If they purchased your info from CB, not that special.

You asked about this on the Yale board too. No, it doesn’t mean anything. No matter who you get the recruitment stuff from, it doesn’t mean anything. Your S/D got a certain score on his/her PSAT and got a letter from the school for that reason.

they send these to anyone who demonstrates even the smallest bit of literacy on standardized tests. so congrats- you have an 8% chance to be admitted to Princeton, just like the rest of the applicants!
