"You must submit a recommendation from your school; usually a guidance counselor writes this recommendation and includes it with the School and Transcript Report (Part 3).

We also encourage you to submit and additional recommendation. Recommendations must be submitted either with the School and Transcript Report or with the Supplement for First-Year Applicants. We cannot guarantee that recomendations submitted in another manner will be filed before we evaluate your application."

From the first page of the UVA application, you can view this if you click on the pdf file on the admissions web site.

At my daughter's school they are required to give the teachers an stamped envelope addressed to the school admin dept--and the date that the teacher needs to send it.

I know that at some schools it goes through your guidance/college office.

Good luck

Scherzo- I know what you're talking about. They have no "what's your name, how do you know the student, where do you work" sort of forms. So I made my own lol. Maybe this was a big mistake, but I figured it would be better for the Admissions Office to at least know how these people know me instead of just receiving a random letter.

why dont u apply online its sooooooooooooo much easier, and they prefer it. online u just need to give the recommender's email (one two, or as many as u like), and UVA sends them a request for a rec. then ur recommender just types it up and emails it to UVA. UVA then sends u and ur recommender a confirmation saying theyve received the recommendation.
