recs

so i know colleges want junior senior recs but seeing as how im applying stanford rea, the senior teachers are kind of irrelevant and that only leaves junior year teachers. the problem with that is my junior year teachers dont really know me that well and i have a freshman year teacher who taught me in history and now teaches me in an elective. she knows me inside and out and i have constantly come to her to check my essays for like summer programs and even a scholarship that i won. should i take a risk and let her write it? my other rec will come from a junior year teacher just to let people know, actually one who has taught me from soph and junior year.

if that teacher knows you as well as you think, i dont see why not.
you want these recommendations to say something about you outside of the classroom. of course they will talk about what kind of student you are but also talk about ur habits, passions, interests, goals, motivation, etc - so it seems if you went to this freshmen teacher constantly about things outside of school, i think that recommendation is qualified IMO. If you want u can go talk to your high school counselor.

hopefully this helps, good luck!

If that teacher really does know you that well then yeah go for it. Ask them!
