How many high school teacher recommendations does Brandeis require? I keep hearing one from some people and two from others.

They told me one when I called them.

DEFINITELY ONE. My interviewer said one and my regional admissions councelor said one. Alot of people send two because alot of schools want two, and it wouldn't be considered that supplemental by sending two, but they only require one.

ok thanks. do you know how i would be able to check to see whether all my material has been received?

ED candidates are supposed to get an email today, stating what the admission office doesn't have from you. I called them up a few days ago.

Good luck!

yep thanks, same to you! i actually am still working on my app, trying to get that done tonight. and i did call earlier and got the info i needed...the admissions woman i with whom i spoke was quite helpful.

Hmmmm.... supposed to get an email today as in two days ago?

I shouldn't be too nervous that I didn't get one those should I? F'ing nerves.

Generally, no news is good news when it comes to these dunnings. If you're totally unsure and about to freak out, call the office and double-check. But if you didn't hear anything, that should mean they have everything.

Well, the thing is that they wouldn't have everything on Monday. I didn't submit the actual application until yesterday.

No news is good news.... that's calming in a horrifying way. But whatever, not much I can do now but wait.

Thanks.

I haven't heard anything either...and I know they definitely atleast have my stuff, considering that I handed it in directly at Shapiro. Unless I forgot something, and I quintuple checked.

I'm apprehensive about calling admissions though. Don't want to be another panicked applicant. :/ They have enough of those.

I think that if your weren't missing anything, you didn't get the email

"I didn't submit the actual application until yesterday."

That's the key.

You didn't get anything because you weren't on the applicant side of their system. The database is broken into two parts - prospects and applicants. NOTHING you send the admissions office is entered into the database UNTIL you send in the application. This email to let students know what materials they are missing was only sent to applicants. Therefore, no application, no email - regardless of what you've sent them in the past.

There should be other emails of this nature going out later in the year, but I'd give them a call, maybe the day before the Thanksgiving break or a few days after and double-check on things. The Monday after Thanksgiving is insane for phone calls, so don't call then.

Gotcha.

Good stuff then.
