<p>Do recommendations from professors that went to/ got their PhD at the University you want to transfer to help more than regular recs? For example, I want to try to transfer to Harvard, and I have a prof that got his PhD there...will that help?</p>

<p>More important than where the prof got his/her degree… is how well the prof knows you and can speak to your strong qualities. </p>
<p>There is the chance that the prof’s coming from the target school will be a plus… but I would agree with entomom that it is secondary.</p>
