Recycled Essays?

What do those in CC think about recycled essays? I'm not talking about using essays you've written about word for word, but using topics you've written before to write a college essay. I'm asking because I'm drawing a blank right now over essays and I'm looking at one of the essay choices in the Common App. which would go along perfect with a speech I did for Academic Decathlon a year ago, which got me 3rd place statewide, BTW. It's funny yet sincere, and it's a subject which really goes deep into who I am and my outlook on life.
All right, enough with the tangent. Have any people who have gotten accepted into top schools done this? Is it ok? Should I feel guility about it?

Thanks!

Why would you feel guilty for something you came up with on your own?

I know, but I just thought since I didn't write it specifically for college. I have a very weird conscience. LOL!

x.X. Well, it certainly shouldn't be a problem - if it's fitting for you and if you wrote it.

I wrote it and it's really perfect for the topic. As soon as I read the prompt I thought of the essay.

If it fits, maybe. But, definitely edit and tailor it more. :)
