Can I recycle my common app essay (about the background and story) for the UC essay (about the world I came from)?</p>
<p>If the colleges you’re applying to don’t use the common app, then definitely reuse the essay as long as it still fits the prompt. Almost everyone reuses essays between colleges (I reused my commonapp essay for UMD).</p>
