Has anyone tweaked their application essay that they submitted when applying from highschool slightly and used that for their transfer application, and still got into LA or Berkeley?

As a transfer, I applied in back to back years to UCLA and I used essentially the same essay in the year I was accepted as I did the previous year when I was rejected. Not exactly the same as from high school to transferring, but I don’t imagined it’d be any different. I did make some minor adjustments/improvements, but at its core the essay touched on essentially the same things. So it would seem like there’s no “penalty” for reusing your essay, but the second year I applied my GPA had improved significantly and I had more pre-reqs finished so I suppose that could have compensated?

Isn’t one of the prompts different for the transfer application than the freshmen application though?

I know one person did take their essay from high school, but got into both UCB and UCLA. He did have a 3.98 GPA though so that might have helped too.

I copied and pasted one of my essays with minor revisions.
