Red Book Difficulty?

So today I took one of the English practice tests in the Red Book(The Official ACT Study Guide). Last time I took the ACT, I got a 28 on this section. This time, I got a 33. I also finished 18 minutes early. It just seemed to easy...Do you guys think the Red Book's practice tests match the difficulty of the actual ACT?

Yes, the difficulties match; however, I do believe the curves in the Red Book are a bit too generous compared to those of more recent ACTs.

Do you think so? Because I only missed 3 on that practice test, which gave me a 33.

English always has a harsh curve; what I’m mainly referring to is Reading. All of the Red Book Reading Curves are either +1 or +2 and that just doesn’t occur anywhere as frequently anymore.

hmmm. Okay, thanks!
