Red Flag

I found this on youtube. It was filmed at Nellis some years ago and has been shown as an IMAX movie at the Luxor for a long time. All you aspiring young guns enjoy…this is what the AWC at Nellis does.

I have this on Blu-Ray + Surround Sound

It is awesome.

I saw this in IMAX in the National Air and Space Museum...WOW it is amazing. Every time I watch it...I'm just speechless. An amazing video. :)

very cool. it's on hulu (which is legal) if you wanna watch the full thing

I, too, watched it at the Smithsonian. Really enjoyed it.

What I hope you all get (as an old retired guy) is what comes after the zoo. There really big Air Force out there, and it is a whole different world from the Academy.

I'll tell ya. Just visiting the Strike Eagle community with Bullet and Pima really opened my eyes. In 14 months I can tell you if they opened my eyes soon enough.

I participated in seven Red Flags throughout the course of my career, twice as Mission Commander. Some of the best and most realistic training I've ever been a part of. In fact, most of the guys coming back from their first sorties in either Desert Storm or Iraqi Freedom said the same thing about their first combat epxerience: "A real eye opener, but Red Flag was tougher".
The Nellis range has more air-to-air and surface-to-air threats than most COUNTRIES. The most defended piece of real estate anywhere, protected by the best trained and most experienced Red Force in the world. It's MEANT to be that way; if you can survive 10 days of that, you'll be that much better when the real balloon goes up.

Like DS said, it's a great big AF out there waiting for you to join it. I hope you all get your chance to "push from Student Gap, as fragged".

Red Flag is an awesome training exercise. My girlfriend's father flew for the aggressor at Nellis. He loved it. Kind of unfair because I think every fighter pilot loves their job lol.
