<p>Why are most rivalries between schools between "red" and "blue" schools?</p>

<p>Harvard v. Yale
Stanford vs. Berkeley
USC vs. UCLA</p>
<p>Red and blue schools?...</p>

<p>Well these teams aren't playing for any school, but are worthy of naming here:</p>
<p>Cubs v. Cardinals</p>
<p>big rivalry especially here at U of I</p>
<p>We can't forget the Yankees v. the Red Sox.</p>
<p>hahaha oh my I'm not even into baseball and I know about the cubs v cards rivalry. It often is hilarious and I just sit and watch the fireworks not really being informed enough to contribute. Students will even talk crap to their TAs about it. Good stuff.</p>
