Redesigned SAT

I learned today that Yale will allow students in the class of 2022 to submit either the “new” or “old” SAT or the ACT. I’m almost sure that there was a policy that had been previously announced that students applying for the class of 2022 would not be able to submit the “old” SAT. Does anyone have any additional insight on this matter?

Would TCB still offer the old SAT after March 2016?

I’m still curious if anyone can confirm that Yale changed its policy on the SATs for the Class of '22

^^^ @CHD2013: See post #2. Yale’s policy, which has been on their website for the past year, is that they will accept either the old SAT or the redesigned SAT. As the redesigned SAT has an optional essay section (just like the ACT), Yale requires students to take the essay section if submitting the redesigned SAT.

According to the College Board website (https://sat.collegeboard.org/register/sat-us-dates) the old SAT is next being given on October 3, November 7, December 5 and January 23. Then the College Board switches over to the redesigned SAT for March 5, May 7 and June 4.

After the January 23rd date the College Board will no longer administer the old SAT.

@gibby I totally understand that. I created this post because I think they had a different policy a few weeks ago ans was surprised that they would make a pretty significant change. I’m curious if anyone can confirm that they made this change.

^^ As far as I know, they didn’t have a different policy several weeks ago. So, you are mistaken. But, the quickest way to get an answer to your question is to call Yale Admissions (203) 432-9300 and ask them directly.

Ok, thanks
