Anyways, I have a big problem. I, as many others on CC, am planning to apply to an Ivy or two. However, my rank is not that great. Here are my stats:

UW GPA: 4.0
W GPA: 4.756
Rank: 8 out of 205
Course Rigour:Most Demanding( IN the Bridge Program meaning I am a year ahead, will get my IB diploma a year early, and 6(out of 8) of my senior classes will be college classes)
School Rank: 48 on Newsweek
School Type: It is a combination of a Private and Public School(which I am from)

So, I am worried about rank and such. Some in front of me get ahead by taking easy classes and some got a head start in the private school. What do you all think? Is it good enough for say.... Dartmouth and Brown?

What's not hilarious? That you're worried about the grade portion of your application despite the fact that you have straight A's? Your rank (in this case) will have NO negative effect on your admission to any college. Zip. Zilch.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time or anything, but seriously. Take a deep breath. You're going to drive yourself nuts.

I am not joking. Sorry if I am coming off pretentious or something, it is just I really want to get into Dartmouth, and a huge chuck of the accepted students are sal or val. I don't have great SATs or ECs, so I am worried.

Colleges always consider rigor over rank. (Well, Swarthmore doesn't, but every other college I've looked at - selective ones, mind you - rank rank lower than rigor.)

I know someone who got into Dartmouth and another ivy (among other pretty selective schools) and wasn't val or sal- I think you'll be fine as you have most rigorous courseload, etc., and it's not like it's something you have to work really hard to justify anyways since it's really not bad.

OMG... come on dude seriously... how much more can you freak out over your awesome grades which will most probably get you into Dartmouth... consider this as a compliment.. u are a friggin beast

some schools don't even rank. people there seem to get into college. this is totally a non-issue.

no not-great SATs and extracurriculars, that might be something worth worrying about. well not worrying, but fixing. SATs particularly. if you are concerned, you should be practicing for the October exams!

^ I am working really hard. I have decent ECs, nothing great, but my SAT scores are a lame 1840. However, I think of it as plenty of room to improve.
