Reed before medical school

My D just got accepted to Reed today, so we are starting to figure out what her best choice will be. We are in Arizona; she was also accepted to Willamette UPS, and Arizona State, and are waiting other decisions.

One of her big concerns is how well the school will prepare her for med school, what med school acceptance is like, and what kind of pre-med advising/support there is. Anyone have experience with this?

Also, we see reference to grade deflation, and wonder if this will affect her chances of getting in to med school.

Have a look at https://www.reed.edu/ir/medschool.html

@vonlost Thank you!

Not worth it if your D is sure she wants to go to med school. It’s a nice college experience but not if you need to perform at the top level all the time. She would be much more motivated somewhere where the culture itself prepares students to go into med schools as well… I could adapt this to business schools, tech jobs, etc as well.

@International95 thank you. At this time she is leaning towards Scripps College; they seem to have good premed support and would not be as stressful.
