The kid received an email, did anyone else?

YES! I’m ecstatic!

Congratulations!

Thank you! Congrats to your son/daughter as well!!

I just recceived an email that I was waitlisted. What did the acceptance email say? Was there any mention about the size of the applicant pool? I’m actually really worried now because my application didn’t have any glaring flaws that I know of besides the fact that I applied for financial aid. Did anyone else get waitlisted? This is the first bad news that I have received. This is so weird, I never expected to get rejected from Reed because I am such a perfect fit. I already bought a sweatshirt and an “atheism, communism, & free love” shirt that I wear all the time. I visited and had a really great interview. There must be something that I’m overlooking.

My son was waitlisted as well. I thought it was a perfect fit for him, and that he was a strong applicant. He also says his interview went really well. I guess their applicant pool must be very strong this year. Congratulations to all who got in!

Accepted! International student, needed a lot of aid. 2200 SAT, 3.75 GPA. EC’s mostly concentrated on writing and debate. Won international awards for the same.

I read somewhere, probably on here, that Reed received 500 more applications this year than last year.

I was waitlisted too, do you guys know what is the off waitlist rates in Reed? I thought I was such a perfect fit.

I was waitlisted by Reed too, and then rejected by UCLA. It surprised me because I had a high ACT, GPA, test scores, strong EC’s. Boy howdy, this has been the worst day of my life.

I got rejected!? ■■■. I thought I would get in. 2240 SAT, 4.3 GPA, decent ECs. WTTTTTTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.

i was waitlisted. i thought i would be accepted so im devastated

I might just be being a sore loser, but I suspect the fact that I qualify for full-need financial aid was what pushed my app from waitlist to reject.

@welp17… same, I got rejected from UCLA today, too. ASDKLJ;FAFSDKLJ;ASDLFIAWEIOT

My sibling got waitlisted, he needed a full ride though. It’s a good sign i guess

Wow, this waitlist is looking huge already. I read on an older thread that they did a policy where no one admitted from the waitlist gets any financial aid. Since I definitely can’t attend Reed without aid, I might as well take this as a rejection. I guess I’ll wait until I get the actual letter. Congrats to those who were accepted!

I’ve been accepted, but with the minute amount of aid I received, the price is still >62k… which is over double my family’s income… I don’t know what to do and I feel I can’t even be happy about the acceptance because I know I can’t attend Reed now.

@notioureed how is that possible? do you have a lot of savings?

Accepted!
4.1 weighted GPA
3.6 unweighted
1880 SAT
29 ACT

Strengths: Essays, ECs (loads of leadership)
Hooks: URM, adversity

Somehow I feel I don’t deserve it, but hell I got waitlisted by some of my safeties, I’l take it!

Also accepted into UCLA I don’t know what luck struck me.

Congrats Ookapi, people who have experienced hardship deserve it, and some colleges understand that.
