Reed Class of 2020 ED

I’m so nervous! I applied EDI and I’m freaking out because I just found out there’s no email this year. Does anyone know what kind of shipping Reed uses?? (Kidding). (Sort of).
My stats: 3.3 unweighted at a rigorous college prep school, 2130 SAT/33 ACT composite. My recs will be great- I’m really close with my teachers. I’m a part of Planned Parenthood’s Teen Council and my school’s Varsity Ultimate Frisbee team, as well as a multitude of performing arts clubs. I’m a founding member of our school’s robotics team. I also make pizza at a local chain, and that’s what I wrote my Paidea essay on. (Pizza-making for strength). I’m relying on my essays and my teacher recs to balance out my gpa-- do you all think I have a chance? Hope to see you guys next year

Guys can someone help me regarding my GPA?
I looked it up and it (College board) says that if you’re are above 93-4%, then your GPA is probably 4.
My weighted GPA is 19.48 out of 20, which is about 97.4%. So is my GPA 4 or am I lower?

@trevzat Don’t worry. Reed is holistic. They always find a place for someone with potential and interest.

@PMrolam I’d be happy to read your essays!
It’d be cool if you could read mine too (even though I already sent my app but I always appreciate good feedback).

GPA: 3.3 UW (yeah, ik. Bad sophomore year annnd math is really challenging for me)
SAT: 2100
Extracurriculars: Policy Debate (won a tournament and went to State), concert choir, Link Crew (mentorship program at my school between upperclassmen and freshmen), volunteer at a museum, cashier at Wendy’s, Taekwondo instructor, and I play two instruments (violin and bass guitar)
Essays: Still working on supplement but my CommonApp essay is very strong and unique.
Interview: Visited campus and had a really, really good interview
Other: Sending in a creative writing portfolio

Don’t stress. I got in last year RD with a 3.4 UW. They really care if you’re a Reedie more than your grade out of 4.0.

3.5 unweighted here… looks like we’re all in the same boat

Last year, Reed used FedEx to ship the boxes. Thats what I read on the thread somewhere…no idea about how long it took to reach the applicants. Good luck everyone!

@Cosmological If you don’t mind me asking, what were your test scores? Sorry if that’s too personal, it’s just that Reeds average GPA is so high so I’m so nervous!

Have any international applicants received their decisions yet? They’re supposed to send decisions for them via email btw. Domestic applicants will hear back via snail mail.

So even though I study abroad, my mailing address is within the US since my family lives there. So I’m assuming they’ll send me my decision via mail. Sort of my fault! But yeah, if any international applicant receives word via email, please post it here (with or without your decision).

I live on the other side of the country and it’s going to take a few days for my mail to get here. I’m honestly a little irritated that they got rid of emailed decisions.

Oh man, today was garbage… I wake up late and get a call. Too tired to pick up. I get a voice message “HI this dhenrnsnshrh and I’m at fotmgncjd with a black and white scarf. See you.”
It took me about ten minutes to finally realize.

I had scheduled a college interview today. And just as I realized that, my mom left the house in the only means of transportation I have.

In honor of the new Star Wars film

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Hey everyone, good luck with the first round of ED decisions! fingers crossed
I am definitely pretty nervous hahahaha.

Also, the other day I was on Facebook and I found a group for prospective students for the class of 2020. It’s here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1672380799669638/

@AGoodFloridian Awww man, I’m sorry to here it. Did you contact the person who was going to interview you?
And this isn’t geared towards anyone in particular, but is it okay if my Paideia writing supplement reads more like a poem?

Also best of luck to all the ED1 Applicants!

I’m in!!!

CONGRATS!!! <:-P

Thanks @looneytoons , I did, but I’m considering scrapping it. First impression busts don’t look good on the record.

On a brighter note, we have our first acceptance!!! @trevzat ! Big round of applause, congrats man!!

Congrats!!! What part of the country do you live in? :stuck_out_tongue:
