@ColdCider I’m an international so I’ve only gotten an e-mail so far, what does the box have?
A friend who lives in the Seattle area got his acceptance package in snail mail on 2/2. We’re very happy for him!
I’m in!!!
I’m in so much shock right now, I did NOT think I would be accepted with a GPA and SAT below the average. It just goes to show how important demonstrating interest and writing strong essays are
Ahh! I’m so excited! I just got my acceptance box in the mail!
I live in Northern California btw.
I’m so happy for you guys!
A little confetti, copy of the Illiad, aND a reed pencil, notebook, and sticker
@Marihorror thank you for the info <3
It’s great to see some happy campers! I hope the transition goes well for you all, including the internationals onboard.
For those who are spectating this thread but applied RD, I’ve just made a thread for that batch. Wish us all luck!
Rejected…
@Loonytunes
I’m so sorry to hear that… Today has been quite damned really. I have two good friends who applied to Reed and received their rejections today. It’s really upsetting, but I send my best wishes to you man…Don’t let it drag you down and ruin your week. Thank you for your bravery in sharing that with us.

Anyone know where I can get my student id?
I’m so so so sorry to hear that, @Loonytunes
I hope everything goes well wherever you end up going! <3
@quinzdom. where are you located? (congrats btw!!!)
I still haven’t received anything and I’m in Ohio. Does it usually take this long? If people in Florida have already received some notification, wouldn’t I have already heard back?
I don’t want to get my hopes up, but I keep compulsively checking the front door, hoping to see something.
This is really annoying~~
I GOT ACCEPTED OMG
@AGoodFloridian @EdenDanny Thanks for those kind words. Reed really is getting more and more competitive each year. I knew it was very much a reach for me when applying. It hurts a lot now but I’ll be alright. And CONGRATULATIONS EdenDanny! I knew how badly you wanted this, rejoice
So I found out I was accepted today in a pretty anti-climactic manner.
I received an e-mail with my financial aid info, and then about an hour later another e-mail with the subject “next steps for accepted students” or something of the like. Unfortunately I never received an acceptance package which I hope will arrive soon. Anyone else on the east coast find out this way?
@Loonytunes I’m sorry for the disappointment, but wanted to say I think your upbeat and resilient attitude will serve you very well, wherever you land. Best of luck to you, wherever that turns out to be.
We’re on the east coast too, and son found out exactly the same way as @reed1264. Still pretty exciting though. Apparently all the east coast boxes are delayed. Best of luck to @looneytoons - have enjoyed reading your comments (except the one saying you didn’t get in). Your kindness and creativity will serve you well wherever you go.
Did any international who applied in ED receive a good financial aid package?
@ZainSD , every international I’ve heard about had their full need met, and received a very generous reward. In that aspect, no need to worry dude!
@ZainSD I’m an international and received a total of 51k in financial aid, and someone I know received 60k The package included a very generous grant, a loan, and a work opportunity
