@lostint yes i am also going to wait for a bit and see what happens…maybe till friday and then shoot an email to them
My checklist has updated, I’m guessing yours will update soon.
Only thing left on the checklist is first semester grades. I haven’t seen my grades yet but I’m not feeling too good about a couple classes, like AP Gov or Chem H.
Hey guys!! I’ve been rejected by both schools i ED’d too (EDI and EDII).
So at this point, Reed is my top choice. I applied RD. I want to get in. When they gonna release decision?!!!3456
I got a 510 on French SAT and 660 on Literature SAT subject test. Will Reed reject me because of this?
@Ctesiphon I don’t think you have to report them. If you did, they won’t help you.
Will they hurt me though?
If you reported them, your facility with the french language will be called into question, esp if you have good grades in it in high school. The Lit test, however, is hard, and your score would probably be brushed over.
@International95 Will it be somewhat detrimental if I have no humanities subject test (Although my Physics and Math scores are pretty good), and my only humanities AP score by junior year was a 5 in AP US History?
Wish I didn’t take that stupid French test. The proctor told us we could take different tests than the ones we had signed up for so I opted for the French test instead of Bio E, because even though I spent a few weeks preparing for the latter I assumed I was experienced enough to do well on the former; After studying Bio E I didn’t feel quite experienced enough that I could do well. I can’t believe I am so bad at that language after having taken it for 5 years. I’m scared I’ll forever be monolingual and fall back into the close-minded, un-wordly stereotype of being an American, since after a half-decade of study I am still THAT pathetic at it.
I wish I was in Europe so I could be force fed English in my early years so I would be bilingual by this time. The grass is always greener though, I suppose!
I decided I would keep studying French as I plan to take the AP test… Maybe spending a few hours reading through Voltaire, not understanding anything, will help improve my comprehension.
@Ctesiphon I took the subject test as well, and I got an annoyingly low score. I kind of blamed it on my mood though, because I got a 5 on the AP, and I’ve never had problems communicating whenever I’m in France.
If you submitted it, hopefully they’ll just look past it, but it might hurt you a bit. If the rest of your app is strong though, you shouldn’t worry that much.
Just found out that Reed doesn’t send out emails for admission decisions. I love the idea of getting a letter just as the next person, but it means that we have to wait an extra few days to find out if we got in, so I’m just stressing even more…
I might be on a service trip when admissions decisions are released. If I find out beforehand, I can have peace of mind throughout the whole week long trip, but if not, I might just be worried until April 3rd, and I don’t really want my parents to find out before I do.
@london2va, where did you hear that? My son got an email when he was admitted last year. It said something like, “About that application you sent. We really liked it.” There was a link to a video of students getting their acceptance letters all over the world and coming to Reed via all different modes of transportation. An envelope came a few days later filled with confetti and an official letter. Reed really did it right.
Unless Reed says they’ve changed their longstanding policy of sending emails, trust that they still do.
When do decisions come out?
I would imagine that decisions will come out later than they normally do (window of March 17-24) because of the sharp rise in applications.
Does Reed give you your FA award letter with your acceptance, or does it come later?
Did anyone else receive an e-mail from the admissions office yesterday? Just curious.
Reed updates your bannerweb account to give you an estimated award.
